Kent Hagerman is a software engineering graduate from the University of Ottawa, who has been working at Ciena since 2014. He has worked on projects ranging across network orchestration (Blue Planet, CORD), container networking & vNF chaining (spanneti), switch virtualization, and most recently, VOLTHA. Due to his “do it once; do it right” mentality, he can be critical of projects that fail to take into account issues of scale, performance, high-availability, and maintainability. Most recently, he has been working to simplify development of containerized applications.
