Hank is currently responsible for driving the transformation, virtualization, and convergence of AT&T’s advanced access technologies, including wireless technologies such as 5G and wireline technologies such as passive optical networks. Hank is also responsible for AT&T’s contributions to global standards.

Hank has over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, focused on identifying key emerging technologies, shaping them to meet customer and service provider needs, and moving them from the lab to the network. He started his career in Bell Labs, holding various technical and management positions in development, applied research, and architecture for broadband data communication and video technologies. At Johnson Controls he was responsible for the Controls Group data, voice, and mobile communications networks and applications. At BellSouth, Hank’s responsibilities included the architecture for all of BellSouth’s networks and services, IT architecture, systems engineering, and advanced technology / exploratory development. At AT&T, Hank has had various responsibilities in network and device architecture, technology, standards, certification, and deployment.

Hank has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Hank and his wife Diana have 2 daughters and live in Atlanta.
