An operator business workflow is implemented in CORD as an XOS Synchronizer. A workflow is specified by defining data-models, model-policies and event-steps of a Synchronizer. Specifically, the model-policies and the event-steps define actions of a workflow that orchestrate other components in CORD. Programming and debugging complex business workflows are challenging because the code is fragmented across multiple Synchronizer steps, and the relationship between the events (and the corresponding action) is implicit. This also makes monitoring and managing workflows difficult. To address this challenge, we introduce a workflow management system into CORD. In this talk, we will show how an operator’s business workflow can be implemented, debugged, monitored and managed using the workflow management system.
