ONF Connect 2019

This talk gives an overview over the progress of supporting Fixed Pipeline Model (FPM) switches in Stratum, an open-source next-gen thin NOS. We present the developed P4 compiler backend targeting FPM, that allows generation of switch pipeline configurations from conventional P4 programs. Further, we show how these configurations can be used to program the hardware through P4runtime and how the Stratum runtime translates them into SDKLT call. The talk is concluded by a complete workflow demonstartion of programming a Broadcom Tomahawk switch, from the P4 program to the table rule manifestation in silicon.
