Tasked with developing a disaggregated access POD for nation-wide roll out we find ourselves not wholeheartedly consuming the SEBA design and its open-source building blocks. In this talk we shed some light on our approach of building a disaggregated, modern and designed-to-cost access POD, and highlight some decisions that differ from the "proper" SEBA design. The presentation will be looking at our implementation plans from a control plane point of view. It addresses how we plan to be as vendor-lock safe as possible, treating open-source project the same way as commercial solutions. We further acknowledge that orchestration is often a very operator and deployment specific task and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution.  A crucial ingredient to our approach are well-defined (ideally community agreed) interfaces between the various components of the control plane stack in order to enable a strong functional decomposition. We believe that some of our design decisions can help others in the same situation and we are happy to engage in efforts to advance the SEBA design and bring the data models that define our interface into the open and improve them with the help of the industry community.
